As of Tuesday, October 16th, 2007, CSI has returned to active gameplay in TF2
Crowbar Swinging Idiots (CSI) is a Team Fortress 2 (TF2) clan. The term clan, online, means a group of people who take part in competitive internet matches. As a clan, we are in 1 league. Stronger Than All TF2 (STA-TF2) is a championship style league where teams play a certain number of matches per season attempting to get a good seed in time for the playoffs.
CSI was founded in March of 1999 by Andy. It was originally a Half-Life deathmatch clan. However, when Team Fortress Classic came out, we changed, quickly. In June, 1999, Aphrodite and Octane, who knew each for some time, were talking and decided to start a clan: The Brotherhood of Team Fortress (BOTF). When Andy found out about it, he suggested a merger. There was a vote for the name, and 'CSI' prevailed.
The first two months were very difficult. We stepped in to competitive league play without knowing the a thing about it. Our first eight matches we were 1-7. Over the next three years, CSI became increasingly successful, playing over 250 matches and posting a positive win/loss ratio competing in TFC's most competitive leagues. The key to our success was being friends and remembering that we were in this together.
CSI retired from competitive TFC in April 2002 and entered a 5 and a half year hiatus. During this time we kept in touch via email and IRC. When Team Fortress 2 was release in September 2007 to considerable buzz and fanfare, it was only natural that CSI would begin playing together again. Within weeks, we have had our first scrims and returned to active gameplay. CSI aims to further our reputation in TF2 as a competitive, fun-loving clan.
